The Alps

Dream-trails is based in the southern French alps, on the door step to the Ecrins national Park, in the Hautes Alpes. This area is the best adventure playground in Europe.

80+ Crags


This area is a Mecca for rock climbing, with over 80 sports climbing sites (crags), many with more than one sector, and grades ranging from 3c to 9a. 6 different rock types: Limestone, Granite, Conglomerate, Gabbro, Quartzite and Gneiss, and a mix of single and multi-pitch.

Kayaking Grades 1-5


This is the capital of white water in France, with world famous rivers such as La Durance, Le Guil, La Guisane, L’Onde, La Gyronde on the door step and the Ubaye not far away.  Each of these rivers has many sections that can be run. There is also a whole host of lesser know rivers.  The area is suitable for beginner paddlers right through to the advanced, with flat water lakes and rivers from grade 1 up to 5, this is a boaters dream.

6,800km+ Marked Paths


In the Vallouise valley there are over 740km of marked paths, and in the Hautes Alpes a total of 6,800km. The trails vary from a family circuit over half a day, to multi-day routes and tours. Thanks to the great weather, you can walk most of the year, April – October. In winter, try snowshoeing. Within an hours drive we have 3 mountain ranges that offer different types of walking from big high mountain routes to sub alpine trekking; so we are bound to find the right level for you.

27 Via Ferratas


There are 27 of these ‘iron ways’ in the area, ranging in difficulty from family friendly to routes that take you up shear faces to alpine peaks.

300 Days of Sunshine


This area has a med climate boasting 300 days of sunshine a year, hot summer temperatures and great mountain environment, the perfect place for your dream adventure.

Travel



Getting here is straight forward, From Calais it takes approximately 9 to 11 hours, it's around 900km. It is motorway all the way to Grenoble. Standard route - Calais, Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Grenoble, Col Du Lautaret, Briançon, Vallouise. The closest airports to the Durance valley are Turin, Marseille and Grenoble. Turin (Casselle) is nearest (about 2 hours by car) it is also possible to get from Turin airport using public transport.
